My kids and their friends all dislike AI. I haven't put my finger on why, yet.

I think a part of it is a growing negative perception of technology. I think they're smarter than we might give them credit for and can feel when they're being exploited.

Maybe, despite not liking schoolwork they dislike more being a "dumb pipe" between AI and their teacher. We've stripped away purpose in the name of efficiency (and profit).

Some of the adults in charge....really shouldn't be. And I'm not referring to teachers or school administrators here.

Yeah, Google is doing what Microsoft and Apple did, get their product in schools so that the adults will demand it at work later on. They had already been doing this with Chromebooks.

However, now the product is human intelligence and the motivation is ungodly amounts of debt the economy is linked too. AI literacy makes no sense, the whole purpose is you don't need the literacy, it understands normal human speech.

It's unconscionable, but Google seems to be making the kids dumb on purpose. If the kids are dependent on AI then the market will always exist. It is weird cause Google isn't even in first or second place, but maybe brand loyalty can win out?

Not all students have digital hygiene skills for attentional control, info addiction, and info overload with respect to cognitive load theory and long term potentiation. Maybe there could be a guiding prompt controlled by teacher to level set. Going to need a lot more sensemaking and critical thinking now that education possibly doesn’t need brute force formal methods. I do think writing should be for humans and reading for machines, relatively, as a rule of thumb.

This is a hypothesis. It should be tested in a controlled environment. Not let loose on the whim of a Silicon Valley executive with a track record of harming children.

I dont understand the EULA terms how that is compatible vs pushing it to schools?
