It's always a very short walk from "serious concern about religious prophesy" to "why is anyone taking this person seriously." The answer is, of course, huge piles of money.

Why wouldn't the Antichrist be spreading warnings about someone/thing else being the Antichrist? If he doesn't misdirect people, they could suspect him. Heck, he could even charge $100/head to peddle his lies.

Plus, he invokes political philosopher and member of the Nazi Party Carl Schmitt, whose ideas about the Katechon he counts as an influence and slightly critiques.

There's gotta be people in the Vatican reading this dreck while they punch holes into drywall out of anger. I'm pretty sure Thiel is closer to destroying eschatology than reviving it.
