Dad, amongst other things, worked as a crimimal forensic pathogist, and related that they would send RCMP officers to be legal observers of autopsies done as part of criminal investigations, and how he kept an eye on them and would take one finger and prop them up and push them against the wall, and tell them, just sit or slide down the wall if they feel they are passing out, when this started to look likely. I have also sat in on courses for doing aircraft accident investigations, and have known people who are 'first responders' and in all cases it is generaly fairly strait forward to figure out what happened, but actualy proving that 'beyond a reasonable doubt' is another thing. Crime is mostly the result of inequities, poor training ,no education, bad manners and lack of agency, and no court is mandating that these things are considered and then remediated at the societal level, so we play wack a mole hella go round , and pause once in a while for some earnest hand wringing.
