I was there, back in the day, when the web was being brought into existence, and I remember emailing CERN to tell them there was another webserver in the world, and could I be put on the list please.
Back then, it was clear to me that the world had changed, quite significantly. It wasn’t long before the newspapers and magazines were writing about nothing but this new-fangled self-publishing medium, with both hope and trepidation; both of course being well-founded.
“AI” is the same today. It would frankly be quite strange if a lot of HN wasn’t (in some way) associated with the next seismic-scale paradigm shift. To attempt to stand in the way seems foolish, and just as doomed as the computer magazines I remember from my youth [1]
