Something I have been thinking about a lot too.

What will eventually look like infrastructure like telecom and fiber ( massive volume, lower margin)

What will look like applications on top ( targeted value, higher margins, order of magnitude lower volume)

Media enabled tech has both ( google, facebook) so there will be some of that
