True, I am a true fan of the original series and the sequels up to Voyager. I tried watching some of the newer ones, but they all seem to focus on screen action rather than the story. A lot of fast-moving images, explosions, and battles with a very thin story. That might work for a few episodes, but not for a whole series. I don't think the series is without a fix, since the idea of finding new life will always be attractive. But, as always, the writing is what matters for the show, not a never-ending show about flashy battles and cool-looking shots. I hope they find their way back soon.
Star Trek became, essentially, Star Wars. Which is a shame because we already have Star Wars, but there's nothing like what Star Trek was.
I'm essentially in the same boat but I do have to say Strange New worlds has had that old school trek charm personally.
So, as a rule, I don't get motion sick from screen-based entertainment. I've enjoyed all manner of Video Game, music videos, and even endured Michael Bay movies, without any problems.
But I absolutely cannot deal with the visual style of nü-trek. It has become the most visually unreadable franchise for absolutely no reason that I can understand. Stop moving the fucking camera! Light your set appropriately! Let me look at what you are filming for a fucking second!
