It sounds like at least some units has battery problems? Based on the description it sounds like water found its way into the battery compartment and short circuited something. A true product design nightmare.

That being said: I just don't understand the reason for the existence of this product. I'm a happy owner of an interdental water flosser and it is just not a problem aiming it at between my teeth. And the rare occasions when I mis-align and spray the water at my teeth is not an issue at all. And you feel when it is miss-aligned (or rather, not feel the water between your teeth) so it is not a thing I feel was in need of improvement.

I guess combining the water flosser with a toothbrush is nice, but does that need the whole camera stuff?

My wife and I have used electric toothbrushes (sonicare) for years. I used to shop for the best deal and the lifetimes on the brushes was not great - the battery would hold less and less charge to the point you had to charge it daily or sometines the body would crack and the brush just fail completely.

During the pandemic I decided to try a different approach by buying the model with the largest battery. This is of course their most expensive model and has a bunch of features you'll never use (WiFi, rfid, etc). They are still going strong after six years. I would have had to replace a cheaper model at least once in this timeframe - even two.

I can find no other news sites corroborating this article. However I can find plenty of places still selling the toothbrush. It seems like nonsense.
