He can't promise money since Congress hasn't approved it, and this would be north of $1 trillion so I guess he's looking to set more record deficits.

If it is illegal, I don’t know who will actually enforce the law. Certainly not the DOJ and most likely not the Supreme Court either.

But it’s an empty promise anyway. Once they’ve got what they want they’re not going to pay out.

The definition of bread and circuses, the kind of thing that conservatives used to warn everyone about voting for, and warn against policies that just gave money away. Remember Mitt Romney's 47% dumbass remark? In larger context it was about people who wouldn't vote for him because they lived off federal dollars. Will no conservatives denounce Trump for trying this?
