One of the things that bother me is that a lot of their language around the tracking technology is "We don't do x with it" But that doesnt rule out someone thats not affiliated with LG to use those features to perform various levels of surveillance.

IMHO I think there is more to what LG is telling the public. There is no reason for the level of adversarial tech and dark patterns in the UI if you are not doing something shady with it.

How does someone unaffiliated with LG make use of this feature? If they don’t have an API for it then presumably you’re safe from third parties unless the TV is rooted, right?

treat ur lan like the public internet

every internet enabled device with recording hardware, will use it against

everything u do with and around a compromised device, can and will be used against u in every possible way within capability
