Is that guy supposed to be TikTok's CEO? As far as I can tell the CEO's name is Shou Zi Chew and he's from Singapore. Photo: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shou_Zi_Chew

Not the same guy as in the video but maybe there is a US division or something?

Added: youtube blurb says the guy in the video is Adam Presser, CEO of TikTok US joint venture.

According to the description the YouTube video this is Adam Presser, and yeah he is the CEO of TikTok’s U.S. joint venture, TikTok USDS.

This is an extremely one-sided editorialized title for this interview. Of all the online communities I have participated in, TikTok has BY FAR the most openly antisemitic comment sections. On basically any video that references Jews, there are almost always many disgusting comments (that get tons of likes) saying things like "F the <juice box emoji>" "mustache man was right" "disgusting people" as well as classic antisemitic tropes about Jews being money-obsessed or inbred. It is very disturbing, and I'm glad that TikTok is finally waking up to this issue and banning those users. I try to report those comments when I see them, but there are just too many, and most of the time the moderators don't find any violation despite them being extremely blatant.

And no, before you say this, I'm not talking about comments criticizing Israel. I'm talking about straight up Nazi-level Jew hate, usually translated to algospeak (e.g. juice box emoji instead of Jews) to evade filters. However, a very common trend I see is for people to call any Jew a baby killer even when the video has nothing to do with Israel and the person's political views are not at all known.

I know you want to portray this as a secret cabal of Jews pulling the strings to control the media, but that is not the reality of the situation.

It's literally an interview with the TikTok CEO saying these things. He specifically says they will ban anyone who uses Zionist as a pejorative.

He is saying that the Jewish organizations are helping to identify antisemitic hate speech on the platform. You presenting it as "Jewish organizations telling TikTok who to ban" is just straight up the classic "Jews control the media" trope.

No he says exactly what I put in the headline. That over two dozen Jewish organizations are feeding them "intelligence" and information on who to ban. In the longer YouTube clip I posted you can see where he says they're banning anyone who uses Zionist in a negative light (not antisemitic!). Please try to argue in good faith.

> He specifically says they will ban anyone who uses Zionist as a pejorative.

Tbh the word has essentially become a dogwhistle.

Zionism is real, it's not a "dog whistle". If you want to support Israel, you should own that position. The human rights violations that Israel has and continues to commit, are going to attract very legitimate criticism and the ideology behind it will be named.

Sure, but that's orthogonal to what I said. It's still used like a dogwhistle.

So now you can't even dislike or be critical of an ideology that not all jews believe without being an antisemite? That just increases real antisemitism.

You can do whatever you want, I don't give a shit. Just know that when you say "I hate zionists" or "zionism must be ended" or whatever the kids say these days, it sounds pretty damn dogwhistley.

Weird, wonder why you see so much antisemitic content despite the intel given by these groups. Meanwhile TikTok made using zionist in a negative way bannable and have tripled the amount of bans since. Huh, real mystery here.

It happens as much on IG and others. You will get downvoted on HN for mentioning it.

While HN will flag moustache-style low-effort comments, it allows and often upvotes more articulate and carefully crafted Jew-hate.
