I remember Mac fans being very excited about this in the mid 90s, dreaming that it would usable in a standard Pentium motherboard - thereby enabling every beige box PC manufacturer to easily turn out a System 7-compatible machine without having to design a properly CHRP-compliant Mac clone.

I'm not sure it was actually ever used in a real product, and Apple canned the System 7 licensing program shortly afterwards anyway.

Yet another disappointment for Apple fans, but at least they were used to it at that point!
