The damage/destruction of a key base for logistics seems to have been kept under wraps for months:

> Diego Garcia, a tiny island 2,200 miles from the Gulf of Oman, took over as the Navy’s logistics hub after Iran damaged a base in Bahrain.

Of course you don't want to dock your capital ships at a place that is with-in striking distance of your enemy.

So, where _do_ you dock them?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Iranian_strike_on_Diego_G...: “On 20 March 2026, Iran launched at least two Khorramshahr-4 intercontinental ballistic missiles toward the island of Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory.”

One failed and the other one was intercepted, but that clearly is within range.
