I’m reading this and I’m amazed. The guy is capturing all wealth of the US into private hands, releases a digital currency almost sounding like an official US currency under private venture, and people in the US clap? I think it could be the best time to review own morals.
Who's clapping?? I think the man should be in jail. A minimum of half the country has always hated this guy's guts.
It blows my mind. I know several otherwise intelligent people who consume Fox News and think anything negative said about this guy is proof of media bias. It’s a weird feedback loop where any criticism results in people trusting him more.

Yet he’s a president. For the second time!

We can thank the Zuck propaganda machine for that.
And the millions who voted for him and would do it again in a heartbeat

Zuck pushed propaganda for Fauci during COVID, so it's okay. </maga>

Zuck also spent half a billion dollars in all swing states to prevent Trump from winning in 2020.

Musk and Russia too.
How many bomb alerts in only Democrat strong areas, for example?

> The guy is capturing all wealth of the US into private hands
Objectively, I think this might be a slight exaggeration...
It is that but it's also the opposite of that at the same time — he wants big businesses to own things but he thinks the government should have a cut. It's the state as protection racket.
He's argued for it for a long time, now he's actually doing it through state thuggishness, but his enthusiasm for it makes him vulnerable to lobbying from Sam Altman and OpenAI, who would actually benefit, and appear to have softened him up on the idea that the USA should have a 5% share of OpenAI.
(OpenAI's 5% gambit, I think, is because they'd prefer he asks for 10%, and reckon he'll try to get one over on them by pushing for that)

most people in the us aren't clapping

let’s see during next elections

The voting public is not the same as the general public.
This is not an excuse for anything. A democracy doesn’t come for free, but requires active participation from everyone.
Maybe that general public should move their asses then. Trump and his family is ransacking the US. It would be funny if it wasn’t tragic.
If they don’t vote they are ok with the status quo
5 hours ago
No. There are many reasons to not vote.
You are informed, and realize that the Gerrymandering of your district is such that your vote for representatives, literally, will not count. Your state is reliably Red or Blue, so your presidential vote, literally, will not count-- due to the Electoral College.
You are informed, and realize that a vote for either of the major party candidates, for national office, is a vote for the status quo of Imperialism, Genocide and the further gutting of the working class to transfer wealth to the already rich. E.g., Harris and Trump were both complicit in genocide. And, Harris, seeking approval of Israel and their agents in the US like AIPAC, the Ellisons, etc., stated that Iran is the greatest adversary of the U.S. There is a non-zero probability we would be fighting Israel's war on Iran even if Harris had won. Democrat Biden still has a higher death toll of murdered children and babies from enabling Israel's genocide of the indigenous Palestinians than Republican Trump, but the number of Palestinian children who's murders were enabled by Trump, is still rising.
You are informed and know that the two major parties conspired to eliminate any third-parties or independents from being able to participate in presidential debates, so, (along with oligarch control of media and campaign financing) a faithful D/R servant of the oligarchs / Israel will, likely, always end up the winner.
You are informed and know that during a multi-year Princeton/Northwestern University study, not a single piece of legislation was passed by congress that was popular with the population, that did not also have support of a wealthy entity too. And, in every case, legislation which the population opposed, but was supported by the rich/powerful was passed. I.e., congress critters are faithful servants to their masters who dole out the campaign funding-- oligarchs, corporations and Israel. The US, at the federal level, is an oligarchy but still goes through the ritual of voting to pacify the uninformed.
You were disenfranchised due to a conviction of a crime you may or may not have committed (many people in the US plead guilty to crimes they did not commit when offered a lighter [often still multi-year] sentence for pleading guilty vs. the threat of a very long sentence / death penalty, if they lose their case in court).
You were disenfranchised due to gerrymandering (redundant to a point above, but puts a finer point on the issue).
Your vote was suppressed by the closing of polling places in your low income area, so a massive number of people must share a single, inconvenient, polling location with a multi-block line. Compare to the wealthy area with multiple polling stations within a few blocks of each other.
(Per Trump's statements), In upcoming elections, heavily armed and masked Brown Shirts ^H^H^H ICE agents will be stationed at the entrance to polling places to intimidate people with too much melanin into not showing up and voting-- and, harass those who do.
...
I still vote for the local elections, but the outcomes of federal and state offices are effectively predetermined in my district/state. So, my 3rd party / independent votes don't even register with the controlling major party as a protest vote-- they don't need to care that I am dissatisfied with their rule, and they don't.

Trump may be untouchable (and he is decaying too fast to really experience what consequences could reach him) but I think someone may go to prison for that scheme. It's just astonishing.

Ah, I wondered what was going to be the terrible reason that people in the admin like Vance were arguing that the US should stop being the world’s reserve currency. I guess they want to swap it for currency they control.

it wouldn't be surprising if you read about Epstein's involvment in jump starting crypto. The kiddy diddlers, unsurprisingly, wanted independent wealth so they couldn't be squeezed by the monied balls.
Now they can destroy the US dollar and move everything into crypto, or so they think. Who knows if the billionaires will actually understand whats happening.

Prediction: these last two years mark the beginning of the end of US financial hegemony.

Care to expand upon that? Where do you think things are headed? I have some ideas, myself, as a form of financial guy and I’m very interested to hear other opinions

One fascinating small indication is the relatively underreported machinations in the last couple of weeks where the USA has been selling billions of its Euro holding, without any co-ordination with the ECB, to buy Yen, so that the Japanese don't sell US bonds to get out of a hole, which would be bad for the USA.
Also the brinkmanship in the way Bessent "announced" that, without announcing it formally, by writing down his plan to do so clearly on a notepad so a reporter would photograph it, which is something he has already said he's done before and, to my mind, comes across as beyond childish.
The EU apparently is furious and considers this reckless, and the strategy itself is incredibly time-limited because they will soon enough run out of Euros to sell. And then what? Japan liquidates its US treasury bonds anyway and the USA has burned another bridge with Europe.
Just a small, self-contained example of the USA acting without care or co-operation internationally. And yet Trump has repeatedly threatened consequences if the EU sells US treasury bonds in response to the tariffs.
Nothing about the USA speaks of the kind of trust you need in a country and its currency for it to be the de facto global reserve currency. Though whether the world actually makes any change there in my lifetime, who knows; there's an enormous amount of inertia to overcome.
