True! That's why I'm not doing that. I'm minimizing my exposure to tech companies and not moving to any other tech company at all.

Also, my reasons for doing so aren't to try to motivate these companies to start behaving reasonably. That's not going to happen. So I'm not technically boycotting.

I avoid these companies purely out of a sense of self-preservation, not to try to change their behavior.

Boycotts work as concerted action. It requires clever patient leadership and mass action.

Personal protest as individual consumer choice ("I'm boycotting meat to protest animal suffering") doesn't work. The market doesnt adapt to non-consumers any more than the homeless are impacting housing by sleeping in the street.

But its a great topic and worth exploring.
