I love reading.. My fav online source was brutalist.report… It's just headlines.. really simple. My only gripe, it pulls a crap-ton of articles I do not care about. Easily half of what I am scrolling past is pure garbage. And my Google News blocklist is no better, easily runing 2000+ sources deep. So a few years ago, I had ChatGPT write me a genius little JavaScript bookmarklet for IOS that hid headlines by keyword. It was simple elegance and It worked great but it broke constantly.
So i asked Claude if we could build our own RSS feed and I spent about over 300 hours designing what is now called Muuted.com. That broken bookmarklet grew into a monster. I created a RSS database from scratch that IMO, rivals even Feedlys. I Designed the Ui from scratch. Tested it with family and friends (thanks for your patience), Heck, i even built a back end workorder system that automacally creates tickets based on your feedback from them ( and hopefully you)…. I designed The onboarding.. the tour.. everything. It’s been a one person show. The result is simple.. you add the stuff you like to read and watch on YouTube or listen to and Mute the literal words or phrases you don’t want to see.. And every story it hides lands in a forensic list with the exact reason it was caught so you can investigate how it got there. Nothing disappears for a reason you cannot see.
So if you’re interested.. check it out at muuted.com. There is a generous free account that is good for most people. It gives you 50 sources and 20 muted words, Pro is $4/mo or $36/yr, and the first 50 accounts get six months of Pro free.
