I absolutely do use AI tools like Consensus.app, which aggregates and summarizes peer-reviewed publications so I can ask things like "Is berberine beneficial for lowering cholesterol?" or "Is RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) still considered the best practice to promote healing and reduce inflammation on an injury?"
AI is just the latest tool to support my “due diligence.” IMHO unless you’re dealing with a rote injury like a broken arm, it’s best to come in armed with as much information as possible before seeing a doctor.

Not only that. But most importantly I propose every solution that AI offers. This helped at least on two cases of me and my family's to try a different medical approach to a health issue (different than the proposed medications initially) and there was a huge improvement in the conditions. Fair warning, this needs an openminded and "friendly" doctor I believe, along with careful mention of "your opinion", (I do not think it is a good idea to mention AI to the doctor, better to say that you read an article about the condition).
That is a good idea, and I agree that it may be better not to tell the doctor that the information came from AI.

Yes to my case too, that seems like a very good indication that you have to deal with a good medical professional in my opinion, the one that doesn't think they know everything. Regarding AI, I believe that if ever a doctor learns to use it the way it meant to be used then many lives will be improved/saved. I believe a frontier AI like Fable probably beats the knowledge and maybe even the reasoning of an average doctor, but that is just my opinion and experience. Of course it should never be used solely without a doctor, and maybe it will be the last profession AI gonna replace, if ever.
