Other companies will take cues based on how well this goes. The only way to prevent every single device you own becoming a billboard is to raise hell whenever a company tries it.

I’m a little afraid that we will be locked out of our devices now that things like TPM are becoming more available. Many modern vehicles need a lot of technology just to power on now.
