I've been a software engineer and architect for about 30 years. I recently started working on a new side project involving AI-assisted development, and that hands-on building is exactly what sparked this article.

I have been using AI to assist in my design-thru-development workflows and found prompt engineering to be too unpredictable. Besides, I didn't want to treat it like vibe coding, I wanted a bit more structure to it.
