While the reasoning behind this is dumb and it is unfortunate that the screening is mandatory for over 30s and not voluntary, I guess I can’t hate that some people will have the choice of receiving a treatment they may want.
Seems like just a matter of time until this logic extends to mandatory HGH and anabolic steroids for all soldiers or something.
Love that they're getting gender-affirming care
Everyone should have access to gender-affirming care
Are there economic reasons that support the decision making?
Are recruiting numbers really strong over the past year? Are they projected to remain that way? Is the military going to be using AI to reduce headcount?
Are they going to force a lot of older soldiers into retirement to make for a new younger cadre of loyalists?
Oh Pete, you're supposed to swallow the sperm, not smear it your hair
I'm on TRT and it's been a lifesaver for me. I was getting horrible night sweats constantly which is what led me down the rabbit hole of finding out that it could be low T.
After I started on the TRT I dropped fat, put on muscle mass, my depression went down and I found myself not wanting to simply sleep all day every day.
I can't imagine life without it. Would regular exercising do the same thing? Maybe. But if I did exercise and TRT I think the results would be better and faster.
So to me this makes sense, maybe not the forced option but I don't think you'd find many men in the military that wouldn't want this done voluntarily if it has no cost.
I pay for it out of pocket and I hate missing a week, I notice it. I haven't had any downsides that I'm aware of other than the cost.
I thought Republicans were opposed to gender affirming therapy?
Ah, America, once the most advanced scientific nation in the world. It's a profoundly sad reflection on the US that these people were chosen to be our leaders. They're not just ignorant, they're willfully stupid, and proud of it.
Since when were americans the shining light of healthy populations?
This administration is making quite questionable changes, but it’s not like the last decades did anything to address obesity and vet treatment…
Nobody is forcing these soldiers to take trt, it’s just screening ffs
It's the worst kind of participation trophy to pretend that this disqualifyingly and embarrassingly stupid behavior is in the same ballpark as where we came from.
Up until around 1965, at least in terms of BMI. Not in any other respect though.
