An update that deletes the app and replaces it with ChatGPT sounds like a forced migration—check if OpenAI announced Codex is being sunset.

I was having this issue and after installing and installing ChatGPT desktop, I finally got the ChatGpt Work, that has CODEX merged to it. So, if you still didn't get it right, try uninstall and install again and again and maybe again hehe.

Same here. But where is Codex in ChatGPT app? I can only use codex as part of VS code extension. I talking about desktop.

This is expected behavior; the Codex app has been rebranded as the ChatGPT app.

Hmph. There was no Update button in ChatGPT, but sure enough, restarting it and now I get "ChatGPT Codex".

I'm not sure I like this at all, but hopefully it means the ChatGPT app won't leak memory and need to be restarted every few hours!
