I visited the UK recently for the first time in a decade. It used to astound me how much everything cost. Groceries. Movies tickets. Gas. Bills. Food and drink.
This trip was different. Everything seems either equal to the pricing in the US or slightly cheaper. I hadn’t really noticed the price changes in the US over the years, so this was quite the shock.
When I arrived, I hit the local grocery store and stocked up on goods for my stay. I was expecting the total to be 2-3 times what it was. Looking at home prices, there’s significantly more affordable homes on the market compared to where I’m from.
We all know prices never come down so I can safely predict that the days of the US being more affordable than Europe are gone. So what are we left with? Gun violence, a drug epidemic, insane violence, and a fascist industrial military complex. Not good.
