Worked with Powerbuilder for a while. While it's RAD in its purest form, very fast to get started (after v11 at least), the proprietary source code format, the high cost now for a subscription license, the focus on such a non-separated all-in-one component, made it hard to evolve, too bound to the IDE, too hard to migrate from and to. As of now, it has the role of COBOL, legacy systems where a full rewrite isn't worth the cost. I can definitely see changes possible to the scenario with AI helping the conversion, or writing tests for a TDD rewrite
