If you read between the lines, what this article is really saying is that switching to Linux is easy and free (as in beer) --- but only if your time has no value.

This was true in the past, it's true today and will most likely remain true going forward.

Keep in mind that upgrading open source can be frustrating simply due to the lack of compatibility concerns and testing. The fun never ends --- it renews with every upgrade cycle.
