Very mixed feelings on this. On the one hand, yes, soldiers should uphold high standards. On the other hand, war is horrible, things happen, and nothing is blach-and-white.
And on the gripping hand: Years after the fact, with zero evidence, relying solely on malleable human memory - is that really a basis for criminal prosecution?
