I guess I’ve never even thought about removing the hard drive from an ATM but it sounds like it would be hard to do and maybe set off some alarms in the process. Is it really that easy?

Yeah it seems like the obvious solution is to make accessing the hard drive as difficult as accessing the cash? And unlike cash which needs to be regularly restocked, it seems like drives could actually be more locked down/difficult to replace than cash.
