I'm not aware of the particular details, but scam like this usual that get posted to HN, probably once a week. Each time it's a different name, probably different scammers.

Most of the times, HN kills the post automatically, but sometimes it's killed after a few users flag the post. So if you see one remember to flag it.

PS: Just for fun, I made a search in Google and got a guy with a mustache that looks real but unrelated (something something about economy???) and a bald guy on a light blue chair (I never saw AI generated photos with chairs, so I guess it's real but may be an unrelated photo, because sometimes goggle mislabel the photos in the same page.)
