They have been doing great work with Java. But everyone takes it for granted. Truffle along with TruffleRuby was also under Oracle.

But I guess the point for MySQL stands, development wasn't halted per se but it has been very slow. Most of it goes to Heatwave, the enterprise version of MySQL.

Unfortunately, Facebook, Netflix, Uber, Airbnb, Shopify, Spotify, and booking.com are all on mySQL and see not problems with it.

Considering Oracle no longer need MySQL I sometimes wonder if they would sell the control out to another company.
