Also, the Monroe Doctrine will just radicalize the Left supporters in Latin America shifing pro China. And that's bad for the US. Really bad.

Unless China and some miracle happens and they make the fusion energy viable and then they render anything gas/oil related -except for plastics- obsolete. That move would just make the US grow some balls and toss money like crazy for clean energy sources.
