One thing I don’t understand is the tie up between the current far right - not MAGA but even more right wing like Nick Fuentes/Groypers and adjacent people that are supremacist - and Catholicism. Why is religion part of the resurgence of far right politics? And why Catholicism instead of the other types of Christianity that are more popular in America? I would have expected young males in America to skew atheist, but it seems the modern supremacists are also theocratic.

organized religion is by definition controlling of the masses and Christians are particularly obedient. It really isn’t just Catholics, it is just other types of Christianity in America do not have a “Pope” the World knows about

I guess you need an identitarian religion that was practiced for centuries by white men and was (historically) anti-Jewish, anti-Islam.

And it's good to choose a different one from the other far-right wing nutters, the Evangelical Christians and magas, who are also far-right from my point of view.

And doesn't matter that contemporary Catholicism is an ecumenical religion that promotes equality, charity, meekness, non-violence and rejection of war.
