This article seems like a purposeful PR 'leak' attempting to deflect criticism of the deal structure. I'm skeptical about the approximate numbers claimed but even if they're ballpark accurate, I suspect the generally rosy impression the article gives is leaving out a lot of non-rosy parts.

Even if this particular deal concluded like the Grinch movie with Jensen showering uncharacteristically generous gifts on the residents of Whoville, ultimately this type of asset acquisition deal undermines the 'startup promise' the valley was built on.

Nvidia practically bought everything that makes Groq function without any of the baggage or even regulatory scrutiny, and now pushing PR speak to do damage control.

What happens to the CEO and the remaining shell of a company? Do they have to pretend to carry on just to keep up the pretense that this wasn't an acquisition? Or will they actually continue to do things?

They still own the IP and have binding contracts with Saudis for the AI data center, though it would be hard to implement anything even if they licensed it to other companies, because without the engineering talent that made it all function, it’s quite impossible to make it all work.
