As someone from the Czech Republic, I’m honestly proud to see us at #18 on this ranking
What I find especially encouraging is that our score (487) is above the OECD average, despite the fact that Czechia is a relatively small country without massive education budgets compared to some top performers.
Historically, we’ve had a strong emphasis on math, engineering, and technical problem-solving, which still shows today - especially in STEM fields and technical universities. At the same time, this result feels like a reminder that maintaining (and improving) math education matters if we want to stay competitive in an increasingly data- and tech-driven world.
Curious to see how countries like ours will evolve in the next PISA cycle, especially with AI tools becoming more common in education.
