The most interesting feeding behavior of wasps, occurring only in the social species, is called trophallaxis. Since the larva need protein to grow, the adults hunt caterpillars, bugs, etc. They chew them up for the larva and feed them. In return, the larva provide the adults droplets of a fluid rich in nutrients and sugars. Feed your babies protein, eat the sugary excrement. Yum.

I would not eat wasp honey for the same reason I would not drink armadillo milk.
