I shared an office with a bunch of crypto enthusiasts in 2010 when I was running my first startup. They kept going on about Bitcoin and how I should get some because money would be obsolete in a few years. I thought they were silly (and I still do) but I could have a very different lifestyle now if I'd had some foresight.

It's not really a regret though. Just a missed opportunity. I'm a little more open-minded about tech now.

Yeah, I clearly remember the day when bitcoin hit 37 cents. I thought, “this is interesting enough to make a $50 bet on.” I started looking into how to make a wallet and actually acquire s the BTC, and decided it wasn’t worth the time effort. That would have been about 3 hours, including a round trip to the closest bitcoin ATM.

The first big regret I thought of is kind of related: I wish I’d learned more about investing. I have a retirement account but that’s it, and when I had more disposable income I had no idea how to go about getting started.

The lesson is to gamble on things that are either a) fun like btc, or b) you personally see it as a viable product in the future.

What would you do different now in terms of investment. Tell us who wish to learn.

But... Would you have held?

Edit: those guys that told you about it, are they wealthy now?

Ahhh the one that got away. You often reminisce of what it could have been like.
