This is it? A novel model and an interface I don't care to use.

I don't understand the push for multi-agent right now. Getting a single agent to work reliably is a problem. Getting multiple running, with possibly overlapping diffs just seems to be impossible.

They all seem to have hit the upper ceiling with state of current LLM's and chat interfaces so trying to entice you with minor updates.

I am still waiting to do voice controlled chats where I don't have to speak in a foreign language and keep correcting the input.

Now there is something of value to actually improve.

I feel like I frequently run this bake off on my own... just to see how all the different models solve a specific problem and make sure they're consistent. I think they should call it Bakeoff mode tbh.

Built in browser seems like big usability upgrade too. I've been searching for a solution to me switching between browser and IDE when working on javascript.

Hmm. Is there something like cursor that is going to remain focused on files? I’m not that keen on the random unsupervised code gen.

Zed seems pretty focused right now. Problem is the editing experience is still not as good as Cursor (1.0).

This move will create a vacuum. If Zed can't rise to the challenge, someone else will.

Trying out zed right now. It’s nice, like a modernized neovim with AI! Thanks for the recommendation!

The new UI in cursor is optional. You can still use the old one.

The timing of this major announcement seems interesting. One of the founders announced yesterday that he's leaving. I wonder if the two events are related.
