Such an amazing "the road not taken" backstory. I worked (as a user) on several of the workstations mentioned in the ns32000 wiki page. They were lovely, bespoke styling, a delight to sit at.

Motorola just had better time-to-market.

The FPGA project looks very pleasing. This could be a whitechapel workstation, or an early postscript engine as well as a NetBSD or bbc micro/acorn device.
