As exciting as this might be (and as someone who had two grandparents develop Alzheimers, I'm more than average invested...), per the article this is purely speculative at this stage, with simulations and animals tests suggesting it might possibly have a function in inducing differentiation of stemcells into neurons more effectively than alternatives, and no evidence that this would actually be sufficient to have any effect on Alzheimers.
