This is funny but I worry most people wouldn't get joke. I'm not sure how best to convey "This is a captcha". Maybe add other "noise" and the printed text "Type the letters above to enter" or something like that.
Though, maybe the subtlety of this is the point. A way to be nerdy without being completely obvious. "I guess that person just likes a wavy 'Welcome' text mat" vs iykyk
