We have some of these around me where there is a lot of snow and they are so so bad in that application. Neat elsewhere, though, and visually interesting.

"Bad" is a pretty serious understatement.

They create a natural spot for drift creation, say nothing of what happens when it starts melting and everything winds up in the trough.
