Maybe now would be a good time for Trump to use US market access as some type of bargaining chip in Chinese trade talks. One can only wish.

And then kiss the US auto industry goodbye. It's hard to know what Trump is serious about - other than lining his own pockets - but if he's serious about restoring manufacturing jobs in the USA, that's a non-starter. And oh, wait, there's that other thing he's serious about - maximizing oil company profits - and great Chinese EVs for $15K or less are the stuff of oil company executives' nightmares.
