An 'interesting' (am not really into televised sports) thing, which I've stumbled over, is the fact that this superbowl set several records, one of them the large distance/difference in points, which stood for at least two decades afterwards IIRC.

That must have been very exiting at the times, and may have been an additional factor to the spreading by word of mouth for this advert, to people who otherwise wouldn't have known/heard or cared about it, that much.
