Maybe they've seen or read "Altered carbon" and are just as inspired as the mob was after seeing "The Godfather" to replicate the actors behavior.

Not really. It will only lead to longer lives. So many factors lead to dead without need for organ replacement. Dead causes are maybe in hundreds of different things.

Even they can extend human age to hundreds, tail odds will catch them.
