It may be the first time a President pardons a corporation but it is a little sensationalistic to suggest that Trump is on a power grab or is "expanding" anything as the Constitution indeed only states which offences can be pardoned:
... he [The President] shall have Power to Grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

I think it speaks more to the sloppiness of the action more than its expansiveness.
Pardoning a corporation is silly - corporations aren't subject to jail time and the administration can't really change the regulating laws. So really you are just absolving them of a 1-time fine.
BitMEX being named on the pardon was probably more of an oversight by a pardon-happy administration than it was a calculated legal decision.
