This is a pretty interesting approach.

It looks a little more noisy at a far distance because the convex shapes read like faceted reflections.

However, if I’m understanding this correctly, it greatly reduces the overdraw problem with other splat methods which would make this much more suitable for realtime use cases.

This method is promising, especially with flat and untextured surfaces. Secondly, this method has far better detailed results in the background. (compared to 3d Gaussian Splatting)
