Tough. On one hand, sure, stealing others' work (software) is a shitty thing to do. On the other hand, science is science. Their findings are no less valid due to what software they used. I'd publish it anyways, with a notice on top of the article (to duly shame them). We should not let science suffer on the altar of IP!
