There's so much rent-collection in music streaming fraud almost seems inevitable because most of the pipeline is in competition with the musicians for that revenue AKA a massive conflict of interest. The outcome has been musicians get paid very little by any streaming service yet half-a-billion consumers are streaming music and apart from Spotify's ad-supported plan each service costs around $10 - $30 a month!
