I think it's fairly uncontroversial to say that medical marijuana has made legalization of medical cannabis more palatable to the general public. That's why, when I read articles like this, part of me is worried that "psychedelics without hallucinations" will allow the government to continue to persecute users of psychedelics while still permitting medical use. That considered, it's ironic that DEA was recently blocked from, and is once again attempting to, place the substance in question (DOI) in Schedule I, even though this research might bring about a result that would be very convenient for them.
