Something has happened in society, lying and making promises that will not be kept is now ok. There are no real consequences in the long term. People are upset for a bit, but it's all forgotten relatively fast. We move on to something else and soon forget what we were upset about. Altman and many others have learned that they can make promises they have no real desire to keep. It does not matter. There are no consequences as long as there are no laws against it.

We need to keep that in mind.
