Owning either of these makes is a subscription anyway. A guy in my building works for a Land Rover dealer and he says it's embarrassing. They're supposed to take you all over the earth but you'd never take them because they're always broken down. Buy a Ford or Toyota if you want to do any actual overlanding.

It seems even more flexible than a lease, you can pause and return the car at any time and get a new one when you unpause.

Volvo has been offering this in Europe since at least 2022. As always, JLR is late to the party and far too expensive for what they offer.
Isn’t this great for the poor masses trying to show off? Landrover isn’t the brand it once was. It’s a failing brand.

For certain brands this may actually be a win - you still have to manage the breakdowns in some ways though - time hassle etc...
