How is that possible? He was 6 years old, he should have known who his parents were. Did he have no memories of his parents or siblings?

Trauma interferes with memory formation and getting stolen from your family at 6 years old is probably pretty traumatic. Also people often trauma bond with their abusers. This guy has a lot to unpack and my heart goes out to him and his family, especially his mother. Very sad.
