That's an extremely charitable definition of ghosting. I've applied for jobs with a certain large cable and Internet company, gotten the email they received my resume, and then nothing until apparently they clean out their application collection, at which point I got several "regret that we hired someone else" emails all at once.

From a human person, this would be pathological behavior, but apparently from a corporate person, it's to be expected and forgiven.
